mouth

so supergirl learned another new word today... mouth. wow. we always point at her features and name it. she's been able to point at her nose, eyes, mouth -- but now she's pronouncing the words. it's amazing how quickly baby learn!

a lot of people tell me baby at this age is too young to undertand anything and we cannot disagree more. supergirl never lets us get a way with anything.. she is too aware. she can sense when we are sad or upset and react according. like when i'm visibly upset or sad, she will console me with a hug or snuggle into my chest even give me a kiss!!! it's impossible to be frustrated with her- never! ha.

i'm having a huge headache right now. sigh- i'm hoping its just allergies. it's concentrated behind my left temple.

superdad and i are looking for a residence! somewhere bigger, since supergirl is getting bigger. it's so hard in this #@$%$^@ economy to find a decent place within out budget. more on this later..... stress!!

supergirl learned a new word today

and also threw a mild temper tantrum!

superdad and i were speculating as to why she was throwing a fit then we realized she might be imitating us! (when we have arguments!)

but luckily i received this email newsletter today and well, let's just say we feel much better......

Spirited and mild-mannered toddlers alike will experiment with ... how shall we say it? ... undesirable behavior. If your toddler indulges in fits of screaming, hitting, and biting, you can take some solace in knowing that his development is right on track. Discipline can be a challenge with kids this age, so try to build a little personal time into your schedule each week as a way to refuel your patience tank.

actually thinking back to what my friends' tell me about their kids' behavior, we got it pretty good. supergirl is pretty 'mild' in exhibiting these behaviors and she understands when i tell her these actions aren't cool. she even apologizes in her amazing way be immediately smiling and giving a kiss! she is such a smarty pants!

supposely at 13 months and 2 weeks...

At this point you're still your toddler's favorite playmate. But as he gets better at expressing himself through words and gestures, he'll enjoy being around other children. If you take him on playdates or to the park, you may notice that he plays near other children but not really with them. Experts call this "parallel play," and it's perfectly normal for a 13-month-old who still thinks the world revolves around him.

i wish. supergirl has been playing 'at' everyone since 10 months! she's very very social and loves to interact not just observe or play on the side. in fact, she's so keen in making eye-contact with everyone, if someone does not return her gaze, sometimes she gets very frustrated and may attempt other means to get that person's attention!

and she loves to pat her playdate's hand or face, and smiles at them, and even give hugs. i don't know if i should be proud or worried that she's just too easily accepting of anyone and everyone! she loves to give kisses too!!!

as much as i love superdad.. grrr..

... there are times he really really upsets me. and after 9 years of being together...... we argue mostly over nitpicky things. like tonight, he took one of supergirl's favorite cd out of his suitcase and handed it to me. it was extremely scratched up... i mean very beat up. i was surprised and immediately asked him how he scratched it up so badly? he replied with- why do you think it's me? it's probably the cd player! sigh..... of course this led to more back and forth bickering that led to nowhere. he pretty much blamed it on the car's dvd player and not the fact that he took it out of the cd player weeks ago and put it on the side of our cardoor sans cover, nor the fact that he had put it into his suitcase a week ago with the intention of bringing it into the house, but didn't until tonight! this just baffles me all the time. it's always always hard for superdad to admit that maybe his actions led up to the unsavory results! and really.. it's never my intention to 'blame' him, i just react to a lot of things upon contact. i'm a freakin' tired mom as it is! so seeing the badly scratched cd, which he handed to me, i immediately just asked how it came to that?! anyway, i tried to explain to him it's not my intention to accuse him of anything (accuse??!!) (which is what he says i'm doing) but to only acknowledge the fact that the cd is scratched and he'll take precaution to put it into our cd holder next time!!

every little thing is valuable to me, especially supergirl's fave cd! superdad figures it's just a cd. just a cd?! everything costs money thus is valuable, especially in these hard times.........

supergirl crawls ... again

supergirl (my beloved daughter) delighted me today as she reverted to crawling!! superdad (my beloved hubby) and i have missed her cute moving tush since she's stopped crawling and started walking! we were having dinner with friends and amber (our friend's 4 year old daughter) just loved teasing supergirl and wanted to be chased. since supergirl cannot really 'run' yet, nor walk fast enough, she reverted to her super-fast crawling, and she is fast!

awwwwwwwwwwwwwww.................. so cute.

luckily the restaurant wasn't jammed packed, so they had lots of playspace and the staff was pretty cool about it too. =)

motherhood is not for wimps...

nor is it for the weak! i read this somewhere and i cannot agree more, with good reason of course. =)
the past year has been a humbling, zany, eye-opening, hilarious, sleep-dreprived, adventurous, and above all FUN experience as i enter the realm of motherhood for the first time. i am immensely blessed to have a supportive hubby and wonderful daddy to our darling baby girl along for the ride.

my baby needs me, so gotta go... (the story of my life)! lol.

more to come...
