is honesty overrated and lies underrated?
i always believed that being honest is very very important, if not the MOST important aspect of a relationship. whether it's with a spouse, friend, family members, colleagues, etc.
i also understand how hard it is to realize you have made a mistake. and how hard it is to admit to it. and no one likes to admit it, saving face is such an important thing for most individuals anyway. still--- have you notice with lies, it almost ALWAYS eventually come out.
think, how much work and effort has to be used by someone that is trying to hide the lie or truth and cover up all the tracks. isn't it easier to just tell the truth. yes, whoever you lied to will be hurt no matter what (if you lied and depending on how serious it is); but because you were honest, there is a more likelihood for forgiveness and acceptance. if it's carried on and on, and discovered later, the person is still 'hurt' if not immensely more; at this later time... can it be as easily forgiven than if you had been honest and upfront about it at the beginning?????
perhaps the person is lying to keep a famiy together. in that case, could it be condoned? perhaps-- but when all comes to light, the people involved or that you've lied to will still be hurt. can the liar deal with all the hurt and sadness when it eventually happens? as a strong beleiver that the truth always prevails, seems like it's just a horrible thing for everyone involved. forgiveness is preached, but not always attainable, even by the sweetest of people. it's the hurt. and the fact that you were lied to.
for example if i was lied to by a friend because she/he did not want me to be mad at him or they are afraid what they did may have ruined our friendship. 1> if it's 'that serious' of an issue, just tell me the truth! 2> sure you can lie to my face now but say a year later i found out the truth; i will be more hurt and damaged by the prolonged lie, than if i was told earlier.
so the outcome of knowing earlier and knowing later will not change the 'lying' fact and the fact that i will be hurt. so which is better? now or later? i personally prefer now. or the lie just festers. and imagine all the lies that will be required just cover the first one. perhaps it wasn't that bad of a thing- but because it was kept under wraps, it will be considered a worse situation that it really is.
the reason i broach on this subject is because recently i've been lied to by a loved one. it was dramatic at first and we did accept a truce, and honesty was reached between us. so i chose to trust my loved one. he made promises and i believed him. he said he will never lie to me again. i believe him. i trust it was an honest mistake and he felt terrible about it. but because there will be more new situations following the actions he's made, we decided to face it together if more bad news was to come. we promised each other we were a team and we will face it together, regardless.
it did. and guess what? he chose to lie about it. tried to cover it up. instead of trying to deal with it together, he just tried to cover it up. totally broke my heart again. i'm mostly devastated because he broke his 'promise' that we will deal with it 'together' and took it into his own hands again. it hurts so much.
and because it was near impossible for him to cover-up the truth and facts, he finally admitted it. but not after he already made up a bunch of little lies. and at the very end of course he say's he is sorry. and that he will never lie to me again.
i want to cry so much but i can't because when i am sad, i scare supergirl and she cries with me.
so he promises he will never lie again. so? how much can i believe his words now. if it happens again, will he really let us face it together or will he lie again? i'm so scared now. scared because after the very first time, i chose to trust and believe him, but he's hurt me again. he says he lied to me, because he rather i never knew and be sad about it. but the fact was he promised it's something we will face together. he promised. so where is the honesty?

did not receive DECEMBER issue of ALL YOU
magazine! i was just waiting and waiting and it NEVER arrived. figure it might be late due to holiday mail. anyway, i received my JAN issue today!!! so of course i had to call customer service. did they even have to ask if i wanted a DEC issue or just extend my subcription! i want my DEC issue. =/ who knows when i will receive it and if all the coupons will have expired! grrr~

love this bag!
i just received this bag as a present and i love it! it's a good size and can be used as a diaper bag. the interior is awsome too, with lots of pockets! not to mention well made. i've been wanting a microfiber bag. much easier to clean and maintain. thanks ms. a for bestowing me with this lovely present!
i've noticed this brand before at a glance at macy's, but never paid much attention to it. it wasn't until i got this bag, did i do some research on it. it's apparently very popular everywhere and has quite a following of collectors. well, i'm just happy to have the bag! btw, it's tokidoki.
anyhow, she gave me the concerto punk print in carezza design, which is perfect .. for ME!! punk rocks.

i feel extremely lucky to be blessed...
with a child such as supergirl. everytime i open my mouth to speak of her normally it's like i'm bragging. but i don't know how to be any other way, or i'd be lying! luckily for me, and this is why i truly feel blessed, everyone's comment to her, about her, to each other, sounds like they are bragging too or in awe of her. whether it's from relatives, a stranger, friends, colleagues-- anyone that's met her, they cannot help but 'coo' about her. and it's not just because she's a baby or all baby or toddler's are cute. i'm constantly being told how great she is compared to other babies. in looks, charm, personality, smarts, etc etc. that's not saying she's better than other babies. i believe that there are other parents who have babies like her and they feel the way i do, superman does, and everyone supergirl has met before. but that's what i mean by blessed. i'm blessed with all these nice positive reations to surpergirl constantly. i know to be humble, but it's okay to let it spill all over here on my blog. she's amazing. love her so much.

read my profile to left. it's usually just myself, superman, and supergirl. and we are fine. superman and his family have issues. my family have issues. i'm leaving this 'broad.' although we wish for more 'relatives' to be in our lives, they are not around or close enough to be. but we've always thought-- well even if they lived close enough, maybe we'd still prefer to be just us 3, maybe? it's nice to enjoy the warmth of too many relatives around, but only for a 'limited' length of time, right?
but our 2 weeks abroad, up and down, north to south, we visited many many relatives, most who haven't even met supergirl until now. WE HAD A GOOD TIME. and now i miss them all alot. i've never felt this way before. it was nice i suppose for a change to have 'nosy' people popping in when you wish they wouldn't. or a day that is so packed with activities, you don't have time to 'think' and wish people would leave you alone instead. and you end up having fun. having lots of dinners out. lots of activities.
towards the last 2 days our us imposing upon certain relatives, we can feel the hospitality wavering a bit and everyone was getting bored, less activities ensued, and things just slowed down. we are not so exciting or fresh to them anymore. and then we left and returned home!!
i thought 2 weeks, with 1 1/2 days spent in an airplane up in the air-- would be 'too' short of a visit. especially such a rare occasion to travel abroad and visit!!! BUT IT WAS PERFECT. just long enough to feel welcomed and loved, and short enough not to wear out our welcome, and maybe to be missed.
just didn't realize i'll be (here's hoping they are missing us too) missing them. i do. supergirl had such a fabulous time with her cousins, aunties, uncles, gramps, etc etc. it was def a most memorable trip. unforgettable.

supergirl and i both have a cold. right upon our return from our vacation! the only bright side is that we're sick at home, vs while we were abroad! my symptoms are all one day behind supergirl's- so it's safe to assume she got it first! (most likely from her auntie!!) my sister picked us up from the airport, the next day she calls to tell me she has a fever! surely enough 3 days later, supergirl started having a running nose and fever. by friday i had a fever. it's been 6 days, and we both seem to be feeling better. but her auntie insists it 'could not' have been her that got us sick. well ok. maybe a slim chance it wasn't. superman is fine though. and auntie was 'all over' supergirl- like showering her with kisses the night before she got a fever. go figure!
the strangest thing is, i'm also nearing my period, so between feeling absolutely awful with a cold, jetlag, and my pending period- my APPETITE IS GI-NORMOUS. i eat so much, non-stop and i binge; even with a sore throat!!! i look like i'm at least 3 months pregnant right now. it's due to my overeating, and some bloating. i eat till i'm so stuffed and my stomach feels like it's gonna to be overstretched, but i can't stop!! goodness!!!

what is going on?! watering down...... of toilet paper?
i've never ever look at the total length of tissue rolls before, it's just too complex and too much numbers usually!
what happened was---
i was about to buy the 16 big rolls = 32 regular rolls from CVS for $10, since it was on sale. just as i was planning to head to CVS, I see a Kmart ad for the exact same item size for $8.99. what the heck, i went to Kmart.
then i saw target's new ad for this week target has the 18 big rolls = 36 regular rolls for $8.99. i was there and just picked it up, figure it's cheap and might as well stock up.
i'm not sure if most of you know this, but the Charmin ULTRASTRONG has two versions. one is the big diamond print and one is small diamond print within squigly lines. in the past, i only buy the smaller more expensive packs and it's always the big diamond print. it's thick and strong. once a while back, i bought a huge 'special' pack at a discount and it was the latter. feels completely different and it's thinner.
the pack from kmart and target is the smaller diamond print (not the one i like.) but superman says 'whatever'- it'll do since its such a good deal... (i have my pet peeves)
im already disappointed in that it's the small print thinner version, but as i was stowing the packs away, for some reason 'this time' i took the time to look at the bottom #s info. perhaps i was contemplateing returning them just because of the print!! =/ the 16 big roll pack fr kmart has 4 more sq ft than the 18 big roll pack from target. i thought i'd mistaken. i double checked. ok, the 16 roll each has 200 two play sheets per roll. the 18 roll each has 176 2 ply sheets per roll! it just doesn't add up and how can both be called a 'regular roll'? is there a range for a regular roll? so sometimes the big prints on the packages are very misleading! =/

lil supergirl is now big supergirl!
my how fast supergirl is growing and she really is our pride and joy. everywhere we take her, she just makes everyone around us happy and even strangers gravitate twds her!
she is still co-sleeping with us, yes, still at 21 months. but we would not have it any other way!!!!!!! superman and i just love havng her close by and in arm's reach. she sleeps on her own crib, 3 sides up, and is pushed against our bed. she's still very attach to me when it's time to sleep and i enjoy every second of her snuggling up with me. i know this will all end sooner than i wish!
and she knows how to unlock my iphone! it's amazing watching her. she just slides the 'unlock' across the screen.
we're still hearing from a lot of people how advanced she is. we are happy to hear of course. she's very intuitive, she actually knows right from wrong and when we are upset. it's amazing to watch her comprehend our reactions to different situations and she takes it all in stride. we are very careful not to let her see us argue or raise our voices. so far we're doing good!- she's a very very happy toddler.
she's stringing words together. and making short sentences. and i love it when she just 'out of nowhere' reach over to hug me, pat me on the back, or bestow me with a kiss! such an affectionate child!~
she's finally eating cheese! she still won't each meat, but her chicken nuggets and fish sticks. but all in due time, we let her control her own taste and pace. still no veggies, except squash, but she we make sure she drinks naked juice green machine everyday.
we all just got our flu shots (mist for superman and i) last week. which is good, since we will be traveling shortly.

back in my skinny jeans!
well, not really...
but my suits. i fit all my suits from years ago. it feels good. i've invested in some great power suits during my 'corporate' days. lately, i've been cleaning house and i 'thought' about perhaps donating and selling some suits. i've finally found some time to go thru them today and ... boy was i surprised when i fit them... and i looked H _ O _ T. most of my suits are sleek, clean cut, well crafted, and make me look rather sexy powerful, the vibe i was going for back in the days. and i had so much fun trying them on today! feeling an old bit of my old self. i really don't know when i will ever wear them again though and IF i will enter the workforce either. but after much thought, i wanted to keep them all. good suits are hard to come by and i've invested a good amt of time and money finding ones that suit me well. if i ever needed a suit last minute... i doubt i'll be able to find a suitable one that i love and i'll prob have to drop a bunch of cash for one as all last minute shopping goes.

stacking up on lots of freebie or cheap mascaras lately
and also getting to try lots of new ones that are out!!
started with the boots lash enhancing mascara i picked up at target on clearance! i bought the whole lot and passed on to friends. they were $1.75 each!
then the cover girl exact light mascara at CVS, with an ECB rwd, so it was a fairly good deal.
then the Physicians Formula Plump Potion Lash Plumping & Stimulating Mascara for free, after ECB at CVS.
just picked up the benefit's badGAL blue at ULTA for free!
and i just got the 'new' maybelline pulse perfection mascara for only 12 cents at target! for some reason it was on clearance, and i had a $3 coupon! totally cool find.
so far i've only started using the covergirl exact lights mascara waterproof and i like it lots. really holds the curl. one downside is since it's waterproof, a bit hard to remove.

i do heart target! lots of STEALS!!
target is really a great place to shop! and i love all the wonderful mommies who blog and share great deals! here's thanks to you all!! <3
i read about the glade oil tin deal since end of august but never 'remember' to look for it at target. was just there and just by chance i saw them! and they are still on sale for $1.66. i got six tins for 16 cents each. and i remembered i had a free refill coupon (which i only printed 1 copy since i didn't expect to purchase any glad oil tins at all before knowing about this deal!!), so anyway, i also got one refill pack for free! they smell so nice and superman likes them too, he's kinda allergic to the candle wax, he always sneezes! =P
palmolive free & clear dishwash soap is on sale for $1.49, and i also was just browsing this aisle by chance!! i remember i received a pack of coupon in the mail from palmolive and there was a 40 cents off coupon AND i had a target coupon for $1 off any palmolive dishwash soap! this was from a previous household purchases at target, there was a sheet of target coupons in the package! so i got this dishwash soap for 9 cents! wow~
i'm currently using a 7th generation dishwasher, which i also purchased at target at a super deal, more like a steal! and i still have a bottle of method dishwasher which i got for a decent price while it was on sale at target, and i also had a $1 coupon! =)

i read about the glade oil tin deal since end of august but never 'remember' to look for it at target. was just there and just by chance i saw them! and they are still on sale for $1.66. i got six tins for 16 cents each. and i remembered i had a free refill coupon (which i only printed 1 copy since i didn't expect to purchase any glad oil tins at all before knowing about this deal!!), so anyway, i also got one refill pack for free! they smell so nice and superman likes them too, he's kinda allergic to the candle wax, he always sneezes! =P
palmolive free & clear dishwash soap is on sale for $1.49, and i also was just browsing this aisle by chance!! i remember i received a pack of coupon in the mail from palmolive and there was a 40 cents off coupon AND i had a target coupon for $1 off any palmolive dishwash soap! this was from a previous household purchases at target, there was a sheet of target coupons in the package! so i got this dishwash soap for 9 cents! wow~
i'm currently using a 7th generation dishwasher, which i also purchased at target at a super deal, more like a steal! and i still have a bottle of method dishwasher which i got for a decent price while it was on sale at target, and i also had a $1 coupon! =)

I got my FREE Full Size Benefit Bad Gal Blue Mascara!
yipee! i love freebies!! i went to ULTA today to get the free Benefit Mascara. I printed out the homepage of seventeen.com and a copy of official rules too. but when i got there, the ULTA associate said they cannot take printouts, per their store policy!! i showed her the RULES, but she still wouldn't accept it. she says some people would keep printing it and going back. boo to those people who do, that's just so lame- really!! but luckily i also had my brand new copy of Seventeen mag with me, just happened to receive today just before i left for ULTA. what luck was it that i decided to 'bring with me!!'- or i'd be so pissed. anyway, she ripped the cover, and the page with the 'offer' on it. though my mags defaced; i did get a full sized mascara! and BLUE is my thing!!!!!

CVS Clearance Sweep
i've been reading about this via blogs for quite a while... and superman and i finally got a chance to check out our local CVS stores, we have 4 close by. the one with the MOST summer clearance items was a former LONGS DRUG location, which by chance is also a block and half away, the closest CVS to us.
we got two straw hats! one for hubby and one for me. both 90% off. lots of good selection left. he got a cool cowboy style one for only $1.30 and mine was only 80 cents! we also got a loveseat pad for our patio wicker loveseat; was $39.99, we got it for $10. And a hose for $1.50, and the best deal was two heavy duty doormats, the ones that are super heavy, with dry grass detailing to easily clean soles at doorways. we got 2 at 90% off for $2.50 each. These cost $25 regularly! What a good deal. I also use my $4 of $20 coupon on top.

vegas trip
superman, supergirl, and i made way to las vegas last week. our friends recently bought their first home there! congrats to them!!!
superman was also there for work, but we managed to squeeze some good fun down time in.
i also got to check out CVS in nevada- which has the same ads as we do here in so. cal, same ad! and took a spin in target as well, but all's very similar to targets' here in so cal. we didn't do the tourist thing, stayed away from the strip, though we did stay at RIO. we've prob been in vegas a gazillion times in the last decade. nothing to be proud of!
i'm still waiting excitedly for my first issue of ALL YOU Magazine to arrive!

i do semi <3 cvs
but why oh why are the deals in California so different from that of other states? been reading some blogs posting great deals at CVS, such as free after ECB. but when i went into our local store here- NO SUCH DEAL. our ads are absolutely different too. it's interesting because i can't seem to find any blogs about the CVS ads in our area.
most of the LONGS are fully converted to CVS, since ECB are available. so that may or may not be the reason for different advertised deals.
this week for example, i see numerous reports of free blink eye drops, pay $7.99 get $7.99 ECB. blink costs $9.99 - $14.99 here, regular retail. and there is no EBC special at all! boo hoo~

$ has been tight lately, superman is working hard at his job, but what he brings in monthly is just what it is... so i've been working hard and cutting out lots of unecessary expenses. first thing to go of course, is things for myself! what a mother wouldn't do for her baby. everything i think of to do, to buy, to save is for supergirl! =) but it's all worth it.

yeah, i know, that line is old. every parent prob overuse it like me.
but she is! she's finally gaining weight. we took her to see her pediatrician for a weigh in, because at 18mos, she hasn't gained any weight since she was 1!! he wanted us to bring her back in for a weigh in, and if she still did not gain weight, we will have to do further testing. but supergirl gained 2 lbs in 1 1/2 mos! we are so happy and relieved.
and she has 16 teeths fully grown in! 4 more to go.
she's a gabber as always, and now apparently she's also our little superstar, she loves to sing and dance, and it's such fun and joy to watch her.
she's definitely being more assertive these past few weeks. she really knows how to get a point across. and this coming from someone who doesn't talk yet!!

grrr~ backing up is not one of my talents
sigh. i've never been good at backing up my past blogs, works, etc. just by chance i was logging updating a link for my cat's page. yes my cat's! i tested the link and realized it's dead. so i did some checking up on my webpage accounts. which are all hosted by GEOCITIES - !! backed by Yahoo! i have 3 seperate accounts, and spanning over a decade (before I got into blogging, which by the way is infinitely easier than creating a webpage from scratch) i had lots of old webpages.
when i logged in-- words in red informed me that YAHOO 360 (yahoo's own blogging system) has closed on July 13, 2009- just yesterday. well thank goodness i didn't utilize that platform. and below that..... in red, a warning that geocities is closing on Oct 2009!! what?! wait.. so for some bizarre reason i went on a backing up frenzy. i haven't dealt with HTML in a LONG time, so it's prob not even worth my time, but for some reason, i wanted to keep my old 'blogs' and journal entries, what not. it was such a strong urge. but i didn't know how to catalog it all or....
anyway, i did the best i know how. i can only imagine when i have the time and energy to look up all the files and html i've backed up and NOT UNDERSTAND any of it at all!!! =(
but then i think about all the bloggings i do online?????? what if one day blogger decides to go offline? NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~ i actually copy-pasted my old bloggings onto a blogger page, which i named blog archives (and for my eyes only- for now)
i'm kinda freaking out. we have become so dependant on many different levels for many differnt things.
so what if i backed up everything (copy past say.. to a word document) ... but what if my computer crashes? should i burn it onto a disc?! oh my then i have to keep track of that disc, what if supergirl found it and chewed on it and damaged that disc? the scenario's are endless. how do anyone achieve a peace of mind these days????????????? THAT is the question.
msn has spaces. there is my space, facebook, friendster.... we are one person, but split all over the place. skydrive (msn)-- yeah but what IF skydrive crashes??????
**on a sad note, the account with geocities that i have used to host my cat's homepage. an entire webpage dedicated to them!!! -- was inactive!!! i had to reactivate it. but when i logged in, EVERYTHING WAS GONE, deleted...... and I HAVE NEVER backed up any of that stuff. i truly believe it'll always be there, always exist infinitely on the web. (yes, geocities was free, but still, but a wise musing- just because you pay for it, doesn't mean it'll always be there! businesses fail. just never thought it to be yahoo!) i have an image of what that page looks like as i've spent nights upon nights creating it forgoing any sleep! it's gone. sigh. and the worst thing is... i have yet to receive any one notification email from yahoo geocities! talk about no warning! =(

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, when we are able to go on a nice vacation or when we retire. The truth is there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when? Your life will always be filled with challenges.
It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with ... and remember that time waits for no one.
So, stop waiting ....

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry. He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.
Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?"
"You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness."
He said..... "Then I thank you from my heart."
As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.
Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.
Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room. Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once. He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case.
After a long struggle, the battle was won. Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words.....
"Paid in full with one glass of milk" (Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.
Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: "Thank You, God, that Your love has spread abroad through human hearts and hands."
